RSSB’s primary objective is to facilitate the railway industry’s work to achieve continuous improvement in the health and safety performance of the railways in Great Britain, and thus to facilitate the reduction of risk to passengers, employees and the affected public. An understanding of the overall risk level and risk profile of the railway is essential to facilitate this.
Our members in the railway industry, need risk information to help them benchmark their performance and to formulate their own safety policies, plans and measures.
We provide expert support to the industry by undertaking risk assessment modelling and cost benefit analysis in order to support major cross industry decisions. Risk information is provided for our stakeholders to allow them to undertake their own risk assessments in specific areas.
